R04-01 — One concrete local question and answer
Adopt Godz2:R04-01, sharpened by Godz3:F-R04-01 and GI-R04-XR:
Question: Does this recognizable pattern recur within this morning’s rain?
Earned answer: Yes—I observed the pattern return during this rain.
Reject Godz I:R04-MR-01’s “worth investigating?” as the factual completion condition. Whether further investigation matters remains the player’s judgment. The finding establishes local recurrence, not universal predictability, non-randomness or mechanism.
R04-02 — Separate author truth from demonstrated knowledge
Preserve the original fictional premise: the cooling/grid process produces the recurring irregularity. Its observable occurrences and conditions belong to the single scheduled Morning-3 event. Practice changes investigative capabilities, not the phenomenon’s existence.
Cooling causation remains author-only until supported by character-accessible evidence. Reject Godz4:R04-01’s “not random” as an established player conclusion. Visible grid association enters the notebook only when actually observed. A hypothesis may exceed the observations if clearly labeled; the guide must not certify it.
R04-03 — Common closure, distinct investigations
Every completed route includes an intentional comparison of ordinary occurrences through equivalent accessible presentation. This is a baseline action, not another substantial practice or compulsory Stillness specialization. Baseline and Connection cannot answer recurrence after observing only one occurrence.
- Stillness: adds measured timing and observation conditions.
- Craft: adds repeated receiver readings and any demonstrated alignment with the visible event. Calibration improvement alone establishes neither external geometry nor cooling.
- Connection: adds qualified, attributed recollection and an explicitly offered lead, if present. It does not verify history; present observation does not require believing the neighbor.
- Mixed: retains elementary findings actually obtained and labeled hypotheses, without automatic specialist results.
These refine existing interactions and records; they add no event, environment or system.
Unresolved concern and validation
Preserve Godz 2’s payoff objection, reinforced by Godz 3: accurately establishing recurrence may still feel too slight after three mornings. The reveal and notebook must make the change from suspicion to demonstrated finding perceptible. Astrobot cannot perform that achievement through exposition.
After an uncoached run, ask what changed, which action established it, what remains unknown and whether the experience felt complete. Distinguish a cooling-system guess from a claim that gameplay proved it; prior familiarity with the pitch is not automatically evidence leakage.
If recurrence is understood but closure feels empty, revise comparison, recording feedback or reveal pacing. Do not compensate with unsupported cosmology, withheld endings or expanded scope.
Round 05 question: Using scripted G1 responses only, what should Astrobot say before commitment, after an unsuccessful attempt, when explicitly asked for help, and after discovery—so it feels like a companion while preserving player authorship and distinguishing observation, testimony and inference?
