ROUND12 actual packet.11/30complete. Scenario Stop—use instrument then switchlife.
Godz I Response [internal record ID omitted]
R12-MR-01 — Interruption Cancels Presentation, Not History
Assume the voice hint has begun, but using the instrument has not yet been committed.
Astrobot starts speaking:
“Compare the next—”
Player:
“Stop—use the instrument.”
Immediately: speech output stops. Any unheard remainder is not treated as delivered information. The interruption cancels the current hint presentation, but does not erase already-heard words or any previously saved evidence.
“Use the instrument” becomes a proposed consequential action, not an automatic command. Astrobot responds:
“Stop using the hint and use the instrument instead?”
On confirmation, bind that action to the originating life and current morning. If the morning’s practice was already committed, preserve its existing cost and apply only actions valid within that commitment; never charge another opportunity merely because voice changed the requested action.
If the player attempts to switch lives while that confirmation/write is unresolved, follow R06: resolve or explicitly abandon the uncommitted proposal before switching. A committed write must reach a verified boundary before the switch completes.
A late transcription/model/provider result from the old life may be displayed as stale information if useful, but cannot speak unexpectedly, execute the instrument, mutate the newly active life, or trigger another charge.
Accessible text equivalent: streamed hint text stops at interruption and remaining text is not revealed. “Use the instrument” appears as the same proposed action with the same confirmation. Keyboard, switch-access, captions, and voice receive identical game-state semantics; speech speed creates no gameplay advantage.
Strongest failure: cancellation appears successful while a delayed result later acts on the new life.
Smallest test: interrupt at multiple stream positions, confirm/cancel the proposed action, then immediately request slot switching. Inject delayed transcription, generation, speech, and persistence completions. Verify exactly one intended commitment, zero cross-life mutation, no resumed unwanted speech/text, and equivalent evidence/action availability between voice and text runs.
Godz 2 Response [internal record ID omitted] Godz2:R12-01 — Stop speech immediately; bind the proposed action to its life
When the player says “Stop—use the instrument,” stop hint playback and discard queued speech as soon as interruption is detected. Already-heard clues cannot be withdrawn. Cancel unfinished generation where possible; cancellation does not establish that remote processing or charging stopped.
Treat “use the instrument” as a proposed action in the originating life. Validate that life’s current instrument and encounter state, then present a short confirmation: “Life A: take a reading with this instrument? [Confirm] [Cancel]” State any applicable opportunity cost. If the instruction is ambiguous, clarify rather than choosing an investigation for the player.
If the player switches to Life B before confirming, dismiss the pending action without commitment. Any late transcript, hint or proposed command stays attached to Life A and must neither speak over Life B nor act there. Returning to A does not automatically execute it.
If confirmation already committed the action, preserve its cost and completed work. Resolve pending saves before switching under R06. An uncertain save pauses switching while its outcome is reconciled; it cannot become an apparent cancellation or refund. Once switching is safe, canceled narration does not undo the recorded action.
The equivalent text flow offers Stop hint, typing or selecting Use instrument, and the same confirmation. Keyboard or assistive input earns identical results. Captions stop adding canceled hint content; reading delays neither confirm nor advance time.
Strongest failure: a late voice result is mistaken for fresh authorization in the newly active life.
Proposed test: inject delays before transcription, confirmation, save acknowledgment and speech playback. Measure playback-stop latency; check that only explicitly confirmed actions commit once, to the correct life, with matching text-path outcomes. Mocks test coordination, not actual provider cancellation or billing. G1 remains scripted.

Round 12 — Interruption Cancels Speech, Not History
Godz4:R12-01 — Separate spoken presentation, proposed intent, and committed action.
The later voice scenario begins with Astrobot speaking a hint. The player interrupts:
“Stop—use the instrument.”
Immediately: speech output stops as quickly as the supported speech layer permits. Already-heard words cannot be recalled. Any remaining queued hint audio is canceled. Cancellation of speech does not undo previously committed game facts.
The utterance “use the instrument” becomes a proposed action, bound to the originating life/request. Astrobot does not execute it merely because speech recognition understood the command.
Accessible confirmation appears in both modalities:
“Use the instrument in this investigation?”
Voice: Confirm / Cancel.
Text/control: the same action and choices, without requiring microphone use or listening.
If the player confirms, apply the normal R06 transition: validate against that life's current state, persist commitment/cost before consequential work, then perform only the authorized action. If they cancel, nothing consequential is committed.
Life switching: if a game-state write is already being committed, R06 requires resolving its persistence status before switching. If only transcription/reasoning/action proposal remains pending, switching may cancel or detach that request without executing it. A late response remains associated with the original life and can never act on the newly active one.
If a late result merely contains proposed dialogue, it may be discarded. If remote processing produced uncertain cost, that accounting remains unresolved under R11 even though no game action occurred.
Strongest failure: interruption feels successful because audio stops, while a delayed interpretation silently performs the instrument action after the player has switched lives.
Smallest test: inject delayed transcription/reasoning at every boundary, interrupt, confirm/cancel, and switch. Verify zero unconfirmed mutations, zero cross-life actions, no duplicate commitments, and equivalent successful completion using text-only controls.
Round 12 — Godz 3 actual review
F-R12-01 proposed voice contract: voice is one input/output mode, never prerequisite to G1 or canonical action. Later voice UI separates listening, processing, speaking, and stopped; one accessible stop control interrupts capture/playback and prevents undispatched actions. It cannot promise recall of audio already transmitted or cancellation of provider charges already incurred.
Push-to-talk is conservative initial test; visible microphone state, no background recording. Transcript is editable before consequential action. For low-impact navigation, prior authorization can allow immediate execution with visible result. Practice commitment, morning advance, overwrite/export/share, and purchases require explicit unambiguous action/confirmation appropriate to risk, not constant confirmation of every spoken sentence.
Barge-in stops speech immediately and makes next command distinct; old response tokens/tool proposals cannot commit after user cancels or switches lives. Bind action proposals to life, current state, request identity and authorization. Clarify ambiguity rather than guessing destructive action. Speak success only after confirmed state change; uncertain request remains uncertain.
Caption/text and assisted controls expose equivalent information/actions. Voice transcript memory is separate from request processing; don't permanently store raw audio by default. Screen observation and private context require separate data-scope authority. Inference local does not prove transcription or speech synthesis local; display complete processing path.
Test noisy room, varied accents, long pauses, interruptions, repeated commands, network drop, switching slots while speaking, microphone permission denial, captions-only. Measure time to acknowledgment and time to actual action separately, wrong-action rate and recovery. Choose performance threshold before study based on observed comfortable play, not marketing latency. No real voice engine/provider selected or benchmarked.
Peer critique: prefer Godz2 specific read+life+cost. Don't ask whether to stop hint after it already stopped. 'Use instrument' may mean inspect, calibrate, or measure; select supported context-specific proposal only when clear, else clarify. Confirmation should not falsely consume practice during Morning3 investigation if prior rules make action baseline/investigation cost. No categorical zero-charge claim from stopping; previously incurred costs unresolved. Captions stop future canceled output but preserve already displayed text if accessibility uses it; don't erase visible record retroactively. No per-pixel equivalence claim between reading/speech timing: equivalent evidence/actions and no time-pressure progression. Use physical stop/button or keyboard always; voice-recognized stop latency itself must be measured under noise.
