ROUND 04 — ACTUAL COMBINED REVIEWS. R01–R03 complete (3/30). Question: local mystery answer and evidence limits within unchanged G1/rain-cooling-grid fiction.

Godz I
### R04-MR-01 — First Light Mystery Contract

**Authored local truth:** During the scheduled Morning-3 rain, a **repeatable irregularity exists and is connected within the fiction to the simulation’s cooling/grid architecture**. First Light answers only:

> **“Is the rain irregularity real enough, within this fictional world, to justify further investigation?”**

The answer can become **yes**, while *what the larger system is, why it exists, and what the irregularity ultimately means* remain open. The player receives a real local resolution, not a teaser replacing an ending.

**Evidence limits:**

- **Stillness:** establishes observed timing/repetition under recorded conditions. It cannot establish mechanism, cooling architecture, or artificial origin.
- **Craft:** establishes a repeatable receiver trace under known calibration conditions. It cannot by itself establish what produced the signal or that visible geometry represents the system’s actual structure.
- **Connection:** establishes what the neighbor directly remembers versus interprets. It demonstrates testimony, not historical truth or technical causation.
- **Mixed:** can compare independently sourced fragments and form a labeled hypothesis. Combination does not magically upgrade weak evidence into certainty.
- **Baseline:** establishes that the player personally observed and recorded an unusual scheduled occurrence. Cause remains unknown.

**Larger mystery:** **What is behind the observed irregularity, how does the cooling/grid architecture actually work, and what—if anything—does its existence imply about the wider world?** First Light does not answer those questions.

**Strongest objection:** because the author already knows the cooling/grid premise is true, narration could accidentally leak that certainty and make evidence-gathering theatrical.

**Falsifying observation:** after completion, ask players separately **what they observed, what they inferred, and what remains unknown**. If most confidently state “rain is the computer cooling system” as an established finding regardless of route, the mystery contract failed.

Godz 2
**Godz2:R04-01 — Author-only mystery contract**

**Local question:** “Does a recognizable pattern recur within this morning’s rain?”

**Authored truth:** Yes. Within the existing fictional rain/cooling-grid premise, the scheduled event contains a recurring pattern connected to the grid. Its occurrences belong to the same rain event. Practice changes the available investigation, not whether the pattern exists.

**What the player can establish:** By actively observing and recording its return, every run can establish recurrence under the observed conditions. This is the complete local answer. It does not establish why the pattern occurs.

**Evidence limits by route:**

- **Stillness:** Comparing occurrences establishes an observed interval and its conditions. Timing alone does not identify a cooling system.
- **Craft:** Repeated readings establish a repeatable trace under recorded calibration conditions. A trace alone neither proves external geometry nor explains the grid.
- **Connection:** Examining the neighbor’s account establishes what they report remembering and what they infer. Testimony may guide observation but cannot independently verify recurrence; the player can still perform baseline observation.
- **Mixed:** Earned elementary actions provide separately attributed fragments. Their agreement may support a hypothesis without granting specialist measurements.
- **Baseline:** Deliberately observing the pattern’s return establishes recurrence without precise timing or instrumental confirmation.

**Larger mystery:** What is the relationship between the rain and the glimpsed grid, and what does that reveal about this fictional world? First Light leaves that explanation open while delivering its promised encounter and finding.

**Strongest objection:** “It repeats” may be too slight a payoff for three mornings. Epistemic precision must not drain the scene of wonder.

**Falsifying observation:** If players accurately describe recurrence but say nothing meaningful was resolved—or regard another purchase or run as necessary to obtain an ending—the local contract fails. Revise the encounter’s payoff, rather than explaining harder or withholding more.

### Round 04 — Author Mystery Contract

**Godz4:R04-01**

**Authored local truth:** During the scheduled Morning-3 rain, the player can establish that the apparent irregularity is **not random visual/noise variation: it repeats under identifiable conditions and is associated with the existing cooling-grid phenomenon.** First Light answers: **“Is there a real, repeatable phenomenon here worth investigating?” → Yes.** It does not answer who/what ultimately caused the larger system or what it means.

**Evidence boundaries:**

- **Stillness:** establishes a repeatable temporal pattern and the conditions under which it was observed. It cannot establish mechanism, historical origin, or whether the receiver would independently detect it.
- **Craft:** establishes that the prepared receiver produces a repeatable trace correlated with the event under recorded calibration conditions. It cannot by itself establish ultimate cause or interpretation; instrument output is evidence, not explanation.
- **Connection:** establishes that the neighbor has a specific attributed recollection relevant to the phenomenon and can distinguish what they directly remember from interpretation. It cannot verify the recollection as historical fact.
- **Mixed:** establishes whichever elementary observations were actually performed and may support a labeled synthesis/hypothesis. Combining weak sources does not magically produce specialist certainty.
- **Baseline:** establishes through active observation that an irregularity occurred and merits recording, but not its detailed timing, instrument repeatability, or historical interpretation.

**Larger mystery:** **What is the cooling-grid phenomenon, why does it behave this way, and what broader history/mechanism explains it?** First Light promises curiosity, not a withheld solution.

**Strongest objection:** “associated with the cooling-grid phenomenon” could itself exceed what G1 evidence demonstrates. If the premise only authors correlation with visible grid behavior, say exactly that rather than asserting identity.

**Falsifying observation:** after completion, players should clearly state one thing they learned while recognizing at least one major unresolved question. If they report “nothing was answered” or believe the entire mystery was solved, the contract failed.

# Round 04 — Godz 3 author-only mystery contract
F-R04-01, proposed authored contract:
Local question: "Does the irregular pattern return during this rain, and what can I reliably preserve about it?" The common question is recurrence; route-specific investigations determine the preserved evidence. This concerns repeated observations inside the single scheduled event, not another storm or universal prediction.
Author-only truth: the existing fictional cooling/grid process produces a repeatable visible irregularity during morning-three rain. The event script defines when two occurrences can be inspected and their conditions. No claim is made that characters have proved the process's origin, designer, intention, or relation to real weather.
All players can actively compare the ordinary visible occurrences and record limited recurrence. Stillness can mark the interval and observation conditions after its preparation. Craft can capture the instrument trace and compare repeated readings to the visible occurrence; calibration improvement alone is not proof of external geometry. Connection can qualify the neighbor's direct recollection and interpretation, with any permitted tower lead; present observation is not dependent on believing the testimony.
Mixed practice preserves the elementary evidence actually acquired and a labeled hypothesis. No route gets all domains. A player can finish with "I observed it repeat; here is what my approach let me establish" and a next question chosen from the observed evidence.
Open question: why does this repeating process appear here, and how does the existing tower relate to it? Keep that relationship an investigation lead unless actually evidenced. Do not substitute my earlier invented relay/neighbor-signal story.
Objection: merely watching two identical flashes is not a satisfying discovery. Tie confirmation to an intentional player comparison and let the recording show what became knowable, while retaining accessible assistance. The visual reveal follows the observation interaction without requiring a new system.
Falsification: player cannot distinguish their finding from the opening suspicion, or feels the first run withholds its actual ending. Then revise authored local question/feedback before adding lore or effects. Proving one local recurrence does not prove the whole cosmology.

Godz 3 cross-review: Prefer Godz 2's concrete common question 'Does it recur within this rain?' over 'worth investigating?' which is a player's value judgment, not established fact. Baseline and Connection must be able to actively observe recurrence if that is the common answer; leaving them with one occurrence contradicts shared closure. Godz 4's player claim 'not random' overstates limited recurrence: authored determinism is not automatically player proof against randomness. Keep cooling cause author-only, visible grid association only when observed. A trace aligned to the event can be evidence but needs depicted observations, not calibration alone. All agree recurrence may be too slight a payoff: retain an explicit satisfaction test and revision path, not a stronger lore claim to rescue it.
GOD I: Return ONLY 250–400 words of Round 04 cross-challenge. Choose exact common local answer, separate authored truth from what every route actually proves, reconcile baseline/Connection closure, retain payoff risk and falsifying test. No new systems, no whole-plan recap/research, no simulated rounds. Your challenge goes back to actual Godz peers then simsim.
