# PROP-001 · rain receiver · first modeling brief

**Candidate, not approved.** Creative purpose: let a player who prepared Craft take a distinct instrument reading of recurring rain. The device does not reveal or prove the author's cooling-grid explanation.

## Proposed dimensions and identity

- Envelope: width 0.42 m, depth 0.28 m, height 0.24 m, excluding a later paper strip if needed.
- Low walnut wedge base, modest palm-width brass acoustic cup, one right-side calibration wheel, recessed ivory mechanical needle dial, front paper-trace slot.
- Components must share the same silhouette across all images, model states and captures.
- No glowing screens, floating effects or screen-space controls disguised as geometry.
- This is a fictional instrument. Its physical operating mechanism remains a design question, not an engineering claim.

## States

1. Unprepared: inspect freely; no credited measurement.
2. Prepared: after committed practice, controls and reading become usable.
3. Observing: a real permitted interaction collects a reading tied to that occurrence.
4. Recorded: evidence transfers to the notebook; the scene never fabricates a completed action.

Two occurrences must be compared. Selecting a practice label or staring at the prop does not complete the investigation. The baseline route still succeeds without this device.

## Contacts to resolve in 3D

Wheel pivot, wheel grasp arc, steadying hand area, paper exit, table footprint. Match handedness and reachable height to the player rig before final topology. Never infer exact contact coordinates from the generated sheet.

## Review checklist

- Same cup/dial/wheel/slot in front, side, top and three-quarter views.
- Cup and needle assembly can be built from plausible nonintersecting parts.
- No collision with the notebook or player hand.
- Dial information has an accessible readable counterpart outside the texture.
- Shared wood/brass materials work in the darkest rainy state without hiding the control.
- No claim of UV, rig, engine import, performance or player validation until performed.
